Breach the Surface’s Debris Data Collection Program (further referred to as DDC) is dedicated to collecting and accurately logging plastic debris found in sea and land-based cleanup efforts. DDC locates gaps in current data collection methodologies and develops new logging practices.

DDCX Micro is an extension of our existing collection program which was created to better how we collect data on plastic pollutants. DDCXMicro addresses microscopic pollutants and sets clear standards for logging practices, research methodologies, and educational content.

Our program goals and objectives include…

  1. Design a system that works and is geared toward other like-minded organizations that are directly involved in the data collection process.
  2. Build systems for the masses that are accessible and easy to understand.
  3. Create standards for how data is shared and used through per-to-per cultivation or community members.
